Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented approach to understanding and working with the effects of acute and chronic stress, including trauma. It brings together insights from neurophysiology, psychology, and somatic awareness to support more integrated and responsive ways of working with the nervous system.
Training Overview
The Somatic Experiencing® Training offered in Vancouver is an advanced continuing education program designed for professionals who are already working with individuals experiencing stress or trauma.
Over the course of three years, participants engage in a structured, part-time learning process that explores the principles of nervous system regulation, trauma physiology, and somatic awareness. The training includes:
- Three 4-day modules in each of the first two years
- Two 6-day modules in the final year
This extended format allows for the gradual integration of concepts and practices, with time for reflection, application, and ongoing development within each participant’s existing professional context.
