Dafne Blanco Sarlay

Dafne Blanco Sarlay, MA, RCC, SEP is Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Dafne earned her Masters degree in Expressive Arts Therapy at the European Graduate School in Switzerland. Originally from Mexico, she came to Canada in 1996. Impacted by various types of trauma, her personal and family history inform her understanding of the interconnections of gender, ethnicity, violence, trauma and mental health, and impact how she supports others in their growth. As a counsellor and facilitator, she has had the privilege of working with Indigenous communities in Canada and Mexico and immigrant women survivors of complex trauma, as well as with refugee survivors of torture. Throughout her professional career she has also provided direct support, outreach and advocacy services to diverse communities such as migrant workers, refugee families and youth, among others in one-on-one settings, as well as families and group facilitation. Dafne is also an accomplished multidisciplinary artist, using visual arts and writing as her main media for expression.
