Coral Short

Coral Short (they/them) is a somatic experiencing practitioner and community leader based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Born in 1973 on lək̓ʷəŋən territories (Victoria, BC), they bring over 30 years of experience in art making, activism, and community building to their practice.

As a certified Community Dharma Teacher with True North Insight, Coral integrates Buddhist wisdom with somatic practices, specializing in trauma-informed approaches that center marginalized experiences. They combine somatic principles with eco-somatic practices, including guided nature immersion, embodied anti-oppression work through specialized workshops and courses for white people, and mindfulness adapted for 2SLGBTQI+ communities.

Coral co-facilitates Queer Sangha and leads transformative online workshops that blend somatic awareness with social justice principles. Their approach emphasizes collective healing, incorporating both individual nervous system regulation and community-wide resilience building.

Drawing from their extensive background in organizing and arts-based activism, Coral creates accessible, trauma-sensitive spaces that honor diverse embodied experiences. Their practice particularly supports those navigating intersectional identities, systemic trauma, and collective healing journeys.
