Hello. My name is Patti Cram. I live and work in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, known by the first settlers here as Kistapinahnik (the gathering place). The land here is in Treaty 6 Territory and is the homeland of the Metis. I am married, mother to two adult daughters and grandmother to four precious children.
I am a Registered Social Worker, with a Masters in Social Work, and a Somatic Experience® Practitioner. I completed my SE training in B.C. in 2018. I was able to take Module 1 of the Touch Training with Kathy Kain in Vancouver before the pandemic hit, and am hoping to continue with that training when we can meet in person again.
This past January marks thirty years since my career in social work began, and over those years I have held a number of different positions. Most recently my work has been as a social work educator with the University of Regina and the First Nations University of Canada, a clinical therapist in a Mental Health Outpatient unit and as a holistic mental health therapist in a First Nations community. I now consider myself to be “semi-retired” and have a small private practice in Prince Albert.
I am genuinely thrilled to be joining this training team as an assistant. I have to admit I was somewhat skeptical about the value of SE when I first started my training. After not too long though, I started to notice the profound impact being involved in the training was having on me personally. I continue to realize the benefits of SE personally and have now had the pleasure of seeing what a difference working in this way can mean for the people I meet as clients as well. I am looking forward to working with this team and hoping to be able to support others in experiencing the wonderful benefits available through SE.
